How to Cut and Sew a Child's Skirt in 30 Minutes from a Square Piece of Fabric

You will need:
• a 60 cm by 60 cm square piece of lightweight knit fabric;
*wide elastic to match the knit fabric.
How to sew
Measure the child's waist circumference. Add 2 cm to get the starting measurement for the calculation.
Remember that the radius is calculated as the circumference divided by 2 π.🙂
Calculate the radius and draw a circle from the center of the cut square.
Cut along the marked line, remembering to leave a small seam allowance.

Sew the ends of the elastic together to make the waistband.

Note that the elastic should be shorter than the waist circumference.
Sew the elastic to the skirt edge.
To do this, mark eight evenly spaced points on the elastic. Mark corresponding points along the top edge of the skirt. Pin the pieces together at these reference points.

Sew the seam while stretching the elastic.
