Forest Stump Toy Pincushion

Step 2

Prepare felt in suitable shades (brown, red, beige, and a couple of greens), two beads, stuffing, and a glue gun or textile glue.

Pattern all the pieces; choose their sizes yourself based on the main piece, the bark. In this tutorial it measures 25 x 15 cm.

Step 3

Use dark-brown embroidery floss to make hand stitches on the main stump piece, imitating cracked bark.

Step 4

Overlap the ends of the piece to form a ring.

Step 5

Give the stump a face: sew on the beads, glue on small circles for cheeks, and embroider a smile.

Step 6

Cut a beige felt circle of the required diameter, embroider tree rings on it, and pin it to the stump.

Step 7

After sewing on the top in the same way, make and attach the bottom of the stump (the base), leaving an opening for stuffing.

Step 8

The stump is ready: the stuffing is inside and the opening is sewn closed. Now decorate it—cut grass tufts from two shades of green felt and sew them along one edge of the stump.

Add greenery to the bottom of the stump as well, on both sides if you like.

Only the final characters remain—the little fly agaric mushrooms!))) First sew the caps: stitch together red and white circles, stuff them lightly so the caps stay flat, and glue small white dots onto the red pieces.

Sew the fly agaric stems: form the piece into a ring, round the bottom slightly, and stuff it.
