Dedicated to Moms of Girls: Sew-On Satin Ribbon Roses

These handmade roses are a true lifesaver ahead of holidays, preschool and school recitals, and other special occasions. You can use the buds to embellish dresses, craft lush flower crowns, floral bracelets, and other girly "pretties."

Take a ribbon in the desired shade and heat-seal the raw edge with a lighter or match as usual to keep the fabric from fraying. Fold the ribbon in four and begin rolling the edge into a tight roll: this will be our center.

Sew the center to a small piece of felt. Choose thread that matches the ribbon so your stitches are as invisible as possible.

Next, begin forming looser "petals" by folding the ribbon in half and arranging it loosely in a circle. Secure each turn with thread, tacking the ribbon to the felt base.

Fold under the end of the ribbon and tuck it beneath the finished rose, making sure to stitch it down to the felt as well. Carefully trim away any excess felt so that from the front, only the bud is visible.

The beauty of it is that you will never get two roses that look exactly alike. That means by the end of the project, you can have a true flower garden of your own where every single rose is one of a kind 🥰
