Updating Jeans – 3 Simple Ways to Transform Them
A topic that's always trending: denim upcycling! Today on the agenda are 3 ways to transform your jeans: tie-dye style, bleach painting, and offset pockets.
Everyone who is even remotely creative has probably heard of the tie-dye technique. Tie it in a knot, dye it, wash it – that's the whole process! For those who want to avoid the inevitable "star" patterns in the swirls, I recommend a different method.
Take some chopsticks and lay them out on the pant legs – the idea is to clamp a fold of the desired width between two sticks.

Secure the ends of the sticks with rubber bands so the pants don't unfold at the wrong moment.

Submerge the jeans in a bleach solution – usually, 1 liter of bleach is diluted in 10 liters of water.

You get an interesting color gradient, very similar to "acid-washed" jeans.

The second option is recommended for those who have at least some drawing skills. If you don't, but really want to try, you can sketch a design with a marker beforehand or use a stencil.
Make a 1:1 bleach solution. I recommend testing it on a scrap of similar denim first – if it doesn't lighten easily, you can increase the bleach concentration.
Now for the process: you'll need a pencil with an eraser, which will be used to create the main design.

Twigs and small details are easier to "draw" with a toothpick.

You get a monochrome botanical pattern.

For those who are happy with the color of their jeans but still want some creativity – here you go! A pocket trick that is easy to do at home.

Use a seam ripper to detach the pockets from the pant legs.

Remove the threads and shift the pockets to the side so that the color contrast with the inner surface of the pockets is visible. Secure the new position with pins.

Sew a new seam and remove the pins.

You're ready to go for a walk in your new designer jeans!
