Embroidery Floss - A Budget-Friendly Alternative to DMC
While searching for high-quality embroidery thread, I stumbled upon a new (or perhaps not so new) brand called Belka. It is much higher quality than Gamma or PNK Kirov brands. Furthermore, the color palette almost perfectly matches DMC threads. As for the quality, they do not bleed, do not fray during work, and are colorfast. If you believe the reviews, they are similar to DMC floss but have a slightly stiffer structure. That is probably why the price is significantly lower. By the way, I haven't seen them in regular stores, only on websites, and the price is just 17 rubles per 10-meter skein.

В поиске качественных ниток для вышивки, я набрела на новую (а может и нет) марку Belka. Она намного качественней марок Гамма или ПНК им. Кирова. Кроме того, цветовая гамма практически полностью совпадает с нитками компании ДМС. Что касается качества, то они не линяют, не мохнатятся во время работы, не выгорают. Если верить исследованиям, то они аналогичны мулине ДМС, но имеют более жесткую структуру. Наверное поэтому цена значительно ниже. Кстати в обычных магазинах я не встречала, только на сайтах и цена всего 17 рублей за моток в 10 м.
Oh, those were tough times - I decided to replace expensive DMC with the Chinese alternative CXC to urgently embroider a large picture as a gift. The color match was perfect. And overall I liked everything: the threads are dense, strong, and don't fade.
But to the touch, it's not quite cotton - they squeaked a little )
Now my favorite embroidery floss is Anchor. A bit cheaper than DMC, but the quality is just as good.
