At the recently concluded Formula Rukodeliya, there was a company that became famous thanks to its Instagram account and its unique take on modern embroidery. And that is Owlforest.embroidery! For fans of the primitive genre, they have become a true cult favorite.
Although I'm not a fan myself, their work is truly admirable. They have explored the theme of Russian fairy tales 120% out of 100. The Whale Fish, The Silver Hoof, The Frog Princess, The Tale of Tsar Saltan, By the Lukomorye β it all turned out to be something very warm, familiar, and reminiscent of childhood.
What isn't admirable is the price. Despite the relatively small number of stitches (it is primitive style, after all), the cost of the kits is significant: from 2400 to 3900 rubles per kit. Don't be too quick to be shocked; the price is fully justified by the unique contents. The threads and fabric are all hand-dyed. And that is a guarantee of originality: there won't be identical works like carbon copies. Each kit comes with everything you need, and even magnets that are produced specifically for each individual pattern.

A new series was presented at the exhibition that hasn't even been announced on the official website yet β Villains on Thrones. Here, in all their glory, are the Queen from Alice in Wonderland (who loved to chop everyone's heads off), Koschei, the Snow Queen, and the Sea King (apparently, he was classified as a villain because he held the handsome Sadko captive).
The price for these kits promises to be especially exorbitant: for each pattern, custom decorations have been developed in the form of tiny charms, beads, rhinestones, and rare beads β true collector's items.
