How do you store your sewing patterns?
Even for those who sew for themselves and their family, this is a relevant question. Firstly, there are basic patterns that remain relevant for a long time. Secondly, sometimes you come across models so successful that you want to repeat them in a different fabric. In short, valuable material accumulates.
In manufacturing, patterns are stored hanging up. At home, that's not very convenient.
Possible options:
- take a thick A4 folder and put all the patterns in it. You need to fold them carefully. You can number them and write down the measurements for each one — later, if you need to use them again, such punctuality will greatly simplify the process;
- roll the patterns into tubes and tie each one with a piece of the fabric the model was sewn from;
- hang them up unfolded.
And how do you solve this problem?
I'm not collecting patterns anymore, but rather embroidery charts )) But the principle is the same: I put all important papers into clear plastic sleeves and clip them into a binder – it's very convenient to store, and as soon as you open it, everything is right in front of your eyes 👌
