How to sew a fishing vest?
Calling all crafters! Help! My husband asked for a fishing vest. With pockets. Lots of pockets. The vest needs to be durable and lightweight. No requirements for aesthetics were mentioned.
My timid counterarguments—that it's so much work, or maybe we should just buy one—were completely shot down. He said that one like I would sew can't be bought anywhere. He touched my heart... Anyway, now I have to live up to it.
Please share your ideas, or better yet, patterns. What is this unique garment?

As a fisherman's daughter, I can add that besides durability ("for the ages"), fishing clothes should be of a suitable color, that is, khaki, green, or even made of "camouflage" fabric.
