Organza Crocus: a Very Easy Method for Beginners

This flower is incredibly easy to sew and still looks lovely! I made these flowers to decorate my daughter’s dress, and they came out so airy. Here is a tutorial that even schoolchildren can manage. 😉

Prepare:
• organza 4 cm wide (purple is ideal, although the dress was coral pink, which is why that color appears in this tutorial 😉);
• sharp scissors—this is important!;
• a needle;
• matching sewing thread;
• stamens (a medium-size bead will also work).

Tutorial

Sew a running stitch along the short edge of the organza ribbon.

Step 3

Then go 10 cm along the ribbon and move downward. Keep using running stitches, like this:

Make 1–2 stitches and move upward again.

Go along the ribbon near the edge for another 10 cm, and so on. In total, you need five such sections to form five petals.

Step 5

Cut the thread and gradually pull it to form gathers. Work very carefully: organza is temperamental and tears easily, or rather, it can develop large holes. This is the beauty you will get:

Insert the stamens, secure them with thread or glue, and the organza flower is ready! 😉
