Lush Foamiran Rose: Step-by-Step Tutorial with Photos

Step 1

Foamiran is a new material for me. I won't be able to tell and show you much, since not everything turns out right for me yet, but I will share with you a tried-and-true method for making a little rose from this unusual material. 😉

To get started, prepare:
yellow and green foamiran;
scissors;
glue;
a wooden skewer or toothpick;
a cotton swab;
a candle.
**Tutorial
Make two templates**: a pointed four-leaf template for the sepal and a rounded six-petal one for the rose.
Place the templates on the matching colors of foamiran and trace the outlines with a skewer.
For one flower, you will need one green piece and five yellow pieces. Cut them out.
Make cuts on the yellow pieces, stopping 5 mm short of the center.
Warm the foam over the candle and shape it by stretching it with your fingers.

Warm each petal individually, then warm the center. On two pieces, curve the center and petals inward, and on three, curve them outward.

Step 5

Take a cotton swab and cut it in half—this will be the base for the rose (the size is ideal for a 5-7 cm flower). You can replace the cotton swab with wire or a toothpick with foil wrapped around the tip.

Step 6

Take the rose blanks with the center and petals curved inward. Make a small hole in the center and insert the cotton swab into it.
Place a petal against the top of the swab and secure it with glue. By the way, if you don't have a hot glue gun, Crystal glue or any other quick-drying glue will work.

Step 7

Skip the second petal and glue the third to the base.
Skip the fourth and glue the fifth.

Step 8

After that, glue the remaining petals—this forms the bud.

Step 9

Slide the second blank onto the skewer and glue the petals one by one, wrapping them around the bud.
Start gluing the three remaining pieces whose petals are curved outward. Glue them closer to the base of the rose so the petals remain loose.

Step 10

Once you have assembled the rose, attach the sepal.

Trim the stick and use the finished rose in your creative projects. 🙂
