How to Make Burlap Gift Wrap

It is always a pleasure to give a beautifully wrapped gift to the birthday person or guest of honor. If you want to stand out among other gift-givers, you can make original burlap packaging in just one evening. It is a great gift option for Mom, a sister, a friend, or children—the candy-shaped package is sure to delight them.

Materials You Will Need

1. Burlap - 50 by 30 cm.
2. Bright fabric for trim: 2 pieces, 30 by 5 cm; 2 strips, 50 by 3 cm.

For the flowers (decor)

1. Fabric scraps: solid and printed.
2. Stuffing: cotton wool or polyester batting.
3. Hot glue.

How to make burlap gift wrap

Finish the fabric strips for the trim and ties. Fold under the edge along the long side, apply hot glue, and secure it on both sides.

Wrap the side edges of the burlap with the finished fabric strips and secure them with hot glue as well.

Wrap the gift, shaping the burlap into a "roll." Tie the longer fabric strips to create our "candy."

How to Make Floral Decor for Burlap Gift Wrap

Flowers

For one flower, cut 5 circles of the same size.

Fold each one in half, then in half again, and gather it by basting along the semicircular edge. Do not stitch the entire seam at once; you will need the opening to stuff the "petal" with filling.

Sew all the petals together to make a flower.

Center

Overcast the edge of a yellow fabric circle with a running stitch and draw it up. Stuff it with polyester batting and secure it in the center of the flower with hot glue.

Fold the circles cut from green fabric as shown in the photo.

Gather the base and sew it to the flower.

The final touch: decorate our "candy" with flowers, securing them with a needle and thread or hot glue.
