How to Make a Versatile Detachable Pearl Collar

Have you ever found it hard to choose the right accessory for a dress, suit, or blouse? Especially when you want to highlight your individuality while keeping things understated? Here is a great idea for a detachable pearl collar that goes with almost any outfit, and making this accessory takes no more than 3 hours.

To make this collar, you will need:
• faux pearl beads in three sizes;
• needle-nose pliers;
• jump ring and toggle clasp;
• polyester thread;
• beading needle.
String 3 beads onto the thread and cross the threads through the fourth bead. Continue weaving in the same way, crossing the threads through the third bead. Once you have woven a row to the desired length, make a double cross in the last bead, tie a knot (aiming to position it on the side), and trim the threads. Lightly melt the tail ends and try to tuck the knot inside the bead.

For the second row, cut a 1.5 m piece of thread and begin weaving from the first bead of the first row. Use slightly larger beads for the second row. Weave the row, joining the first and second rows together. Continue weaving to the last bead of the first row. Fasten off the thread just as you did in the first row.

Weave the third row just like the second, but use the largest beads.
