As an example, here is one of my favorite designs. This bow is great for decorating hair ties, hair clips, headbands, hair wraps, and children's clothing. Plus, you can use it to dress up a small New Year's gift.

For this project, prepare: yellow and blue satin ribbon 4 cm wide; sharp scissors; thread; a needle; a ruler; a hot glue gun; a candle (the flame is used to singe the raw edges of the ribbon to prevent the satin from fraying).

Cut the ribbons into 20 cm lengths: two blue and two yellow.
Pair them up with wrong sides facing in, as shown in the photo.

Next, fold each double strip in half and spread its ends outward to form a right angle. Join them as shown in the photo.

Now join the corners of both pieces to the edges of the strips, like this:

Next, sew along the edges of the pieces with basting stitches and pull them to gather into folds. After that, stitch the two sides of the bow together.

To cover the unfinished center, cut another 7 cm piece of blue satin ribbon. Seal the edges with a candle flame.
If you plan to use the bow as a hair tie embellishment, sew the hair tie to the bow at this stage.
Wrap the ribbon around the narrowest part of the bow and secure the edges with a hot glue gun (or neatly stitch them with matching thread using a blind stitch).
