How to Make a New Year's Gift Candy Bouquet

If you've run out of ideas on how to delight someone near and dear, I suggest a versatile yet unusual gift—a "New Year's" candy bouquet.

To make this bouquet, you will need:
• round wrapped candies;
• crepe paper;
• a hot glue gun;
• long and short skewers;
• a small piece of organza;
• holiday ornaments;
• decorative sprigs;
• ribbons;
• tape;
• thread;
• a wicker basket;
• shiny stretch wrap;
• a piece of foam of any density.

At the core of this arrangement, we will have open and half-open rosebuds. For the open roses, we will need large candies that should be glued to wooden skewers and wrapped in stretch wrap.

Cut a 10/15 cm piece of crepe paper and accordion-fold it 7-8 times. Round off the top of the piece and slightly stretch the center of the paper. Wrap the candy with this piece, securing the bottom with thread. For the rose petals, cut 5 pieces measuring 10/5 cm, which should be attached one by one to the center of the "flower".

To make the flower look as realistic as possible, slightly stretch the edges of the petals and curl them with a toothpick or skewer.

Now work on the base of the bud. Cut out two pieces from green paper (with and without notches), and decorate the sepal.

For the half-open buds, you will need smaller candies. Make the buds following the same principle as the open "roses".

Fill the basket where the "flowers" will stand with foam, pre-wrapped in shiny stretch wrap. Make cute organza pom-pom tufts and secure them into the foam with toothpicks.

Then assemble the arrangement, adding a few candies simply wrapped in wrap and decorated with a bow.

Glue a themed holiday tinsel arrangement to the handle of the basket.
