How to Make a Fabric Bun Maker

Materials and Cutting

Cut 2 rectangles measuring 12 by 38 cm from your chosen fabric. We will also need wire—you can buy it in the craft department.

Place both fabric pieces right sides together, draw a line down the center, and mark points 11 cm in from each end. From those points, measure inward another 2.5 cm and draw a flattened oval.

Stitch along the outline with backstitches. Do NOT stitch the bottom of the oval! Make a slit down the center and snip notches to turn the bun maker right side out.

Fold both halves toward the center, align the edges, and pin them. Secure the line with a seam.

Now fold the seam allowances up and down, pin the side halves of the bun maker together, and stitch them.

The bun maker is ready; next, insert the wire that will allow you to roll your hair into a bun. To do this, turn the accessory right side out and topstitch 1 cm from the edge, leaving 4-5 cm open.

Round the ends of the wire with round-nose pliers, feed it all the way around through the opening, and stitch the open gap closed.

To make a bun, pull your hair through the slit in the center of the bun maker, roll it upward or downward several times, and secure the ends.
