How to Make a Cake-Slice Gift Box

Step 1

Every gift needs original packaging. Although only a few days remain before New Year, a cake-slice-shaped box works for any holiday or celebration.

To make this box, you need:
• colored cardstock, with any print or ornament;
• scissors;
• satin ribbons;
• air-dry clay or store-bought décor.

Here is a cutting diagram for a cake-slice-shaped box. Pink areas indicate where to apply glue, red lines are fold lines, blue is the box lid, and yellow marks the cut.

Step 3

Transfer the pattern diagram to a piece of cardstock and cut it out. Use a craft knife to cut the opening according to the diagram.

Apply glue to the joining areas and glue the box together along the seams. Glue a ribbon to the box; thread its ends through the opening on one side, then turn them inside the box on the other.
