Heart-Shaped Valentine Pillow for Valentine's Day: Get Ready for February 14

Step 1

A pillow made from plush yarn will be a real decoration in any room. Making such a gift by hand is not difficult at all—the detailed beginner-friendly instructions are below. 😉

Prepare:
• scarlet Alize Puffy yarn (No. 56)—2 skeins;
• holofiber or polyester stuffing—150-200 grams;
• crochet hook No. 5 or No. 5.5;
• scissors;
• stitch marker.

Heart lobes

Crochet two identical pieces.

Row 1: turning chain, 6 single crochets into a magic ring.

Work the second and all following rows with slip stitches through the front loops.

Row 2: increase x 6 = 12 stitches.

Row 3: *1 slip stitch, increase* x 6 = 18 stitches.

Row 4: 18 slip stitches.

Row 5: *2 slip stitches, increase* x 6 = 24 stitches.

Rows 6-7: 24 slip stitches.

Cut the yarn of the first piece and weave in the end; leave the yarn attached to the second piece.

Heart base

Place the lobes right sides together and work 4 slip stitches through the stitches of both pieces.

Row 8: 20 slip stitches around the 2nd piece, slip stitch from the joining point, 20 slip stitches around the 1st piece, slip stitch from the joining point = 42 stitches.

Rows 9-10: 42 slip stitches.

Row 11: *5 slip stitches, decrease* x 6 = 36 stitches.

Row 12: 36 slip stitches.

Row 13: *4 slip stitches, decrease* x 6 = 30 stitches.

Row 14: 30 slip stitches.

Row 15: *3 slip stitches, decrease* x 6 = 24 stitches.

Rows 16-17: 24 slip stitches

Row 18: *2 slip stitches, decrease* x 6 = 18 stitches.

Row 19: 18 slip stitches

Stuff with holofiber, shaping the pillow as needed.

Row 20: *slip stitch, decrease* x 6 = 12 stitches.

Row 21: decrease x 6 = 6 stitches.

Cut 3-4 yarn stitches, draw the opening closed through the front loops, and weave in the tail.

The pillow is ready!
