BeginnerFreeMany of us already have smartwatches, smartphones, and other gadgets, but many of us can't part with classic wristwatches and consider them an important part of our look. To add a unique touch to an accessory like a wristwatch, I offer several options for unusual straps that any crafter can make at home.
Option 1 - Chain strap
To make this strap, we will need:
• a chain at least 1 meter long (keep in mind that the chain should wrap around your wrist 4 times without being too tight);
• a watch;
• jump rings;
• lobster clasps;
• pliers.
Remove the strap from the old watch. The pins that held the strap need to be put back in place.
Divide the chain into 4 equal pieces. Attach two pieces to one side of the watch using jump rings. Repeat the same procedure for the other side of the watch.
Attach a jump ring to each free end of the chains. Add clasps to one of the sides, and you can now fasten the watch around your wrist.
Option 2 - Scarf strap
For this project, you will need:
• an old watch;
• an interesting and unusual scarf made of lightweight fabric.
Disassemble the watch in the exact same way as in the previous option.
Thread one end of the scarf through one pin, then through the other. Slide the watch so that it is positioned right in the center of the scarf.
Tie the scarf around your wrist in whatever way is comfortable, and you're ready to wear your stylish accessory!
