Summer Refresh β Upcycling Favorite Jeans
I am a denim addict π And even though I usually have at least 5 pairs in my wardrobe, it's very hard to resist the temptation to buy new pants β after all, the new season is here and last year's jeans just don't cut it anymore :sneaky:
This year I decided to use my brain and switch to thrifty housewife mode )) I intend to slightly redo the jeans that I've grown tired of, but are still perfectly wearable. As usual, I looked for inspiration online, where I also found visual confirmation for some of my own ideas.
Option 1: beads and pearls. One of my favorite ways to make an almost designer piece in a couple of hours. The process is elementary: sew on pearls/beads, wear your updated jeans with pride, and as soon as you get tired of the decor, just rip it off. Evenly sewn beads will look like polka-dot fabric; I prefer asymmetrical application on one leg:

Or on the cuffs/side seams β also quite original π

Option 2: embroidery (satin stitch, cross-stitch, basic stitches). I've tried a similar update before β it's energy-consuming and takes a lot of time, but it's effective. True, embroidery on jeans has lost some ground compared to how trendy it was 2 seasons ago. But I still like it, especially mixed media.

Any motif you like can be embroidered not only with satin stitch but also with cross-stitch β just use water-soluble canvas. You can use regular canvas, but then you'll have to trim and pull it out. There was a similar topic on our forum somewhere (if anyone finds it, please drop the link).

Rainbow and outline embroidery are very simple, but they are also great for refreshing jeans.

Any embroidery can also be accompanied by an inscription. I am especially amused by the rebellious ones π We form words from laid thread (called couching, if I'm not mistaken). But you can also just do it with a running stitch or backstitch.

A special chic is 3D embroidery with sequins π₯° Incredibly delicate, but I don't understand this technique at all. I'm mentally preparing to try it ))

Option 3: lace appliques. Personally, I want something as concise as possible, like this one on the shorts. I haven't found anything worthy in the same vein for jeans, so I would be grateful for any ideas.

In general, as it turned out, it's easy to overdo it with lace. These options with solid panels are not quite right π

Option 4: painting on fabric. I know we have artists on our forum π This beauty is dedicated to them. I really like this art, maybe one day I'll be ready to repeat it.

For those who, like me, don't have a brush, you can make a drawing using a stencil, and add the simplest details like leaves by hand for more "liveliness".

The simplest option in the form of stars and hearts, I think, everyone will master ))

That's where my ideas are hanging in the air β maybe the collective mind can suggest something else? π

By the way, I also liked the colorful pockets β it seems like it takes very little time and effort (you can use any cute scraps with prints), and the result is cool π
