How to make DIY cheerleading pom-poms
Supporting your favorite team is so important! It's no wonder that performances by cute girls before competitions are such a hit.
Joining a cheerleading squad is a dream for many girls. To do this, you need, at the very least, to know how to move beautifully with bright and fluffy pom-poms.

You could, of course, buy this equipment, but why bother when you can make it all yourself!
You will need:
- lots of trash bags – it's better to use 60L ones as they are thicker (though the fluffiest pom-poms are made from thin bags);
- gymnastic sticks or any pipes of a suitable diameter;
- plastic zip ties.
How to make
Cut the pipe to the desired size. Drill a hole 10 mm from the edge.

Cut the trash bags into long strips. You decide the dimensions yourself. You can make the pom-pom shorter but fluffier. If you want it to move in beautiful waves while dancing, leave the length at its maximum.
Gather the finished strips into a pile, trying to keep them even.

Insert the zip tie into the hole drilled in the pipe. Place the bundle of strips on top, with the middle resting on the pipe.
Tighten the zip tie and trim the excess length. That's it, you're ready to dance!
If children help with this project, let an adult handle knives, drills, or other sharp tools.

We made shaggy pom-poms from strips of foil because we needed shiny ones for a snowflake dance. We did not use sticks; we simply sewed on handle loops made from ordinary hair elastics, which were comfortable and not bulky.
