How to properly finish the back of a painting?
I'm participating in a small exhibition for the first time, and I have a question about how to properly (or ideally) finish the back of a canvas on a stretcher bar if it won't be framed. Are there any rules? Or how do you do it? I don't want to leave it as is, it won't look professional.

The back of a canvas on a stretcher frame is usually left unfinished. Often, if the painting is not intended to be framed, the side edges are also painted. If it is framed, cardboard is inserted, and sometimes the gaps are additionally sealed with tape to protect against dust.
